Channel 5 Comes to Greentree

Local CBS affiliate NewsChannel 5's Chris Conte visited the property today to prepare a story featured on the 6 pm news tonight about the collapse of the stairs at Greentree Terrace this weekend.  You can see a video of what aired HERE.

Back Stairs Collapsed

This was the scene last night at Greentree after the first landing of the back stairs collapsed earlier in the day while people were on it.  Until repairs are made, occupants of 32 apartments on the second and third floors of Building A have no exit to the outside in case of emergency except at the other (far) end of the building.  (This writer  measured that exit as far as 90 paces from some of the impacted apartments.)

Photos shot earlier in the day soon after the collapse show that the entire concrete landing went down.

Bad News

Sorry to have to report that UHS still has not repaired the stairs on this property.  This morning, the first landing on the back stairs collapsed as people were going down it.  Paramedics left the property a few minutes ago.  Photos and injury report to follow.  (To see video and photos of property as sent to management three months ago, see Gallery Page HERE.
